Tuesday’s Tip #18

Hi everyone!

Welcome to today’s Tuesday’s Tip. These posts are tips about different products, crafting and also ways of stretching the supplies that you already may have. I alternate Tuesday’s Tip,  Technique Tuesday and Tuesday’s Tag just to change things up a bit.

Today I want to share with you ink blending on a budget. There are many techniques that require ink blending ~ blended backgrounds, inking through stencils, edge distressing, etc. Therefore, ink blending tools are required. But if you want to try these techniques without investing in the tools, such as sponge daubers, you might want to try this. Cut up a sponge into small wedges or use the wedge shaped makeup sponges with binder/craft clips as the handles. These can be purchased very inexpensively and in some dollar stores. You will be able to apply these techniques to your projects without getting your fingers inky. And by saving some money, you will be able to have a separate inking sponge for each color in your ink collection. A plastic lidded container {with dividers is helpful} is a great way to store the sponges. I hope this little tip helps 🙂

Please note: I have shown two different types of makeup sponges {both work equally well} and there are many more brands. The difference I have found between makeup sponges and a regular sponge is the that the makeup sponges are not as firm as a regular sponge. You could experiment with both and see which you prefer.
