6″ x 6″ Project #3

Hi everyone!

I think it’s nice to sometimes be able to create items using basic supplies that we already have on hand ~ like patterned paper. Some people like the full 12″ x 12″ sheets of patterned paper while others prefer the 6″ x 6″ paper pads. Or maybe both! So I decided to do a few gift packaging projects using pieces of paper that measure 6″ x 6″. So, whichever size of paper you tend to use, you will be able to make these. Add some adhesive/embellishments and you’re ready to create! These projects can all be easily adapted to suit any season or occasion just by changing the papers and embellishments. The possibilities are endless! As always, please feel free to share your creations 🙂

Today’s 6″ x 6″ project is a Pocket Gift Card Holder{finished size: 2 3/4″  x 4″ when closed} and uses an envelope punch board. This style of gift card card holder is quick and easy to create allowing you to make a bunch at one time to have on hand.

You will need:  6″ × 6″ piece of patterned paper or card stock, envelope punch board, bone folder, adhesive. Optional: small hole punch, ribbon, extra card stock or patterned paper/stamp/ink for a tag, embellishments.

Please note: you may click on the link underneath the last picture for a PDF of these instructions.

#1} Cut the 6″ × 6″ piece of patterned paper or card stock to measure 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.

#2} Place the left edge at 2 3/8″. Punch and score.

#3} Turn to the left, line up notch with score line, punch and score {2nd side}.

#4} Repeat step #3 for the remaining two sides.

#5} Round all 4 corners. This is what it now looks like.

#7} Fold the score lines of the  bottom, right and left side {in that order}.

#8} Apply adhesive to seal and decorate as desired.

The gift card holders can be left open at the top, folded down or tied onto a gift bag.
