Tuesday’s Tag #6

Hi everyone!

Welcome to “Tuesday’s Tag”!  These posts feature how to create different styles of tags that can be used for the usual purpose ~ gifts. But tags can also be added to scrapbook layouts, cards, albums and journals. I hope that you will join me and enjoy creating some tags 🙂  I alternate Tuesday’s Tip,  Technique Tuesday and Tuesday’s Tag just to change things up a bit.

Today’s tag: Welcome Baby

You will need: card stock, patterned paper, stamp set, ink, circle or scallop punch, paper trimmer or cutting tools of choice, adhesive + foam adhesive, small hole punch, liquid pearls/rhinestones/pearls, ribbon/twine. *Optional: powder tool, clear embossing powder, heat tool {you don’t have to heat emboss the images if you don’t want to}. Please noteany baby themed stamp set can be used.

  1. Please note: you may click on the link below for a PDF of these instructions.
  2. Create the tag base from card stock and the top tag layer from patterned paper. This can be done with a punch, die or hand cut. The measurements for this tag are 2″ x 3 3/4″ {card stock tag base} and 1 7/8″ x 3 5/8″ {patterned paper top layer}.
  3. Adhere patterned paper to tag base leaving equal borders on all four sides.
  4. Stamp the image on card stock, sprinkle with embossing powder and heat set. Punch out with circle or scallop punch.
  5. I stamped the image a second time on white card stock and cut out the elephants ear. Then attached it to the body for a little extra dimension.
  6. Add a piece of foam adhesive to the back of the punched piece and adhere about 1 1/8″ up from the tag bottom.
  7. Stamp sentiment on card stock, sprinkle with embossing powder and heat set. Cut out.
  8. Layer sentiment piece onto card stock cut 1/8″ larger {length and width}.
  9. Attach to the tag with foam adhesive in between the tag bottom and punched image.
  10. Add embellishments and tie on ribbons.
