Tuesday’s Tag #8

Hi everyone!

Welcome to “Tuesday’s Tag”!  These posts feature how to create different styles of tags that can be used for the usual purpose ~ gifts. But tags can also be added to scrapbook layouts, cards, albums and journals. I hope that you will join me and enjoy creating some tags 🙂  I alternate Tuesday’s Tip,  Technique Tuesday and Tuesday’s Tag just to change things up a bit.

Today’s tag: Best Wishes

You will need: card stock, stamp set, permanent black ink, markers, dies, small hole punch, liquid pearls, ribbon/twine/tulle, enamel dots. *Optional: powder tool, clear embossing powder, heat tool {you don’t have to heat emboss the images if you don’t want to}. Please noteany stamp/die set can be used.

  1. ∗Please note: you may click on the link below for a PDF of these instructions.
  2. Rub the powder tool over the card stock if you are going to heat emboss.
  3. Stamp the cake image and sentiment in black ink, sprinkled on clear embossing powder and heat set them. If you do choose not to heat emboss but will still be coloring the image, make sure it is stamped in a permanent ink or it will smear when coloring.
  4. Color the image.
  5. Die cut the image and sentiment. I used an ovals stitched framelit set but any shape can be used.
  6. Punch a hole in the top of the tag and on the side of the sentiment.
  7. Slip one end of the tulle through the hole and pull through so there are equal lengths on each side. These can be cut down later if they are too long.
  8. Put some baker’s twine through the hole in the sentiment and tie around the tulle. Snip ends.
  9. Tie a length of ribbon around the tulle and tie into a bow.
  10. Add embellishments and stamp “to/from” on the back. I also added liquid pearls as flower centers.
  11. I had intended this to be a wedding tag and I think it would work for that because of the tulle. But I suppose it could be used for a birthday as well. What do you think?
