Tuesday’s Tag #10

Hi everyone!

Welcome to “Tuesday’s Tag”!  These posts feature how to create different styles of tags that can be used for the usual purpose ~ gifts. But tags can also be added to scrapbook layouts, cards, albums and journals. I hope that you will join me and enjoy creating some tags 🙂  I alternate Tuesday’s Tip,  Technique Tuesday and Tuesday’s Tag just to change things up a bit.

Today’s tag: Envelope Gift Card Holder

Today’s tag is made with the Envelope Punch Board. Have you used one of these? It is such a handy tool to have and is useful for a variety of projects.
This tag is meant to be used as a gift card holder. Tied to the handles of a gift bag, you’ve added the tag and an extra little gift for the lucky recipient!

You will need: patterned paper, cutting tool of choice, envelope punch board, adhesive, extras to embellish.

∗Please note: you may click on the link below for a printable project sheet.

1} This tag is made using the paper size and scoring mark for the 3″ x 3″ envelope {printed on the punch board}.

2} Cut the paper to 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″. Line up the left edge at 2 5/8″, punch and score. Repeat on remaining three sides but do not score on the fourth side, only punch. This is what it will look like. You can round all four corners with the corner rounder located at the back of the punch board.

3} Fold on all three score lines and crease with the bone folder. Fold in the two side flaps and adhere together. Then fold up the bottom flap and adhere. This is now the pocket to hold the gift card. ∗Please note: when adhering the flaps, be very careful not to get any adhesive on the inside of the pocket as this will not allow the gift card to slide down in nicely.

4} Now it’s time to decorate! I stamped “to/from” then punched a hole at the top and added an eyelet for the ribbon to go through. A stamped/layered sentiment was adhered to the front before finishing it off with a couple of metal dots. You can leave this tag as plain as you want or go all out and dress it up!
