Tuesday’s Tag #11

Hi everyone!

Welcome to “Tuesday’s Tag”!  These posts feature how to create different styles of tags that can be used for the usual purpose ~ gifts. But tags can also be added to scrapbook layouts, cards, albums and journals. I hope that you will join me and enjoy creating some tags 🙂  I alternate Tuesday’s Tip,  Technique Tuesday and Tuesday’s Tag just to change things up a bit.

Today’s tag: Happy New Home Window

Today’s tag is created using a window die. I thought that it would be a cute addition to a housewarming gift!

You will need: assorted card stock, window die, patterned paper, decorative edge scissors/border die, wood grain stamp {optional}, greeting stamp/ink, die cutting machine, adhesive, ribbon/twine, embellishments.

∗Please note: the instructions below are for the way I created this tag. Feel free to use different colors of card stock and embellishments. The window shape could even be created by starting with a rectangular piece of card stock and then punching four squares/rectangle shapes for the panes.

#1} I stamped a piece of Soft Suede card stock with Soft Suede ink and a wood grain background stamp then die cut the window/window box.

#2} With decorative edge scissors or border die, cut a valance from patterned paper. Adhere to back side of window as low as you want it. This now looks like the inside of a room.

#3} Cut a background piece just a wee bit smaller than the window. Stamp “to/from” on the back if desired. I then scored some vertical lines to look like bead board and added a strip of card stock to look like a chair rail.

#4} Stamp some flowers, color them and cut out to add to the window box which has been attached with foam adhesive.

#5} Stamp the greeting and add to the front of the box.

#6} Add embellishments.

#7} Punch a hole at the top for the ribbon/twine hanger.
